The last several weeks have been so hectic that some things had to give. Both physical therapy and my gym work outs were cancelled for various reasons but it’s now time to get back at it. Spending an hour with my personal trainer Justin helps me to get my focus back on track. It’s important to keep in mind that my visits to the gym these days just aren’t for weight control but imperative to walking and eventually running appropriately. We take time to work on strengthening my core muscles that help maneuver my prostheses. After we go through a series of strategic exercises, we head over to the stairs to work on walking up and down one leg over the other. It is the most difficult movement with my new leg but I am determined that over time it will be a normal action once again for me. As they say, practice makes perfect!
